Performance of the week: 49:59 10k walk for Ciara Wilson Bowen. That was a painful last 100m if she could see the finish clock. Beautifully timed though.
Some good performances from DSD athletes in the varsities. I liked Andrew McGilton’s 1:53 heat, 1:54 (silver) final on the same day.
Disappointing week for Elizabeth Ndudi – selected for World Indoors LJ only to be bumped out of qualifying quota by one place. Still shockingly young, so plenty of big champs ahead.
MTR’s Romaine King is apparently, Queen of Kinvara. Not a Lovely Girls competition but a 1:24.28 half marathon.
And….the club’s own VHI Women’s Mini Marathon has won the European Sponsorship Association, Event of the Year. Congrats Cynthia and our team at Events.
More excitement to come….our new Mondo surface for the indoors is due to arrive next week.
And repairs to the lower trails will start same day. Yay.
