Keep up…

Performance of the week is probably our (too modest to allow her name) member who used her CPR knowledge acquired at our recent first aid course to keep a work colleague alive until the Emergency workers arrived.

Last week’s the MTR XC league race was a feast for the eyes.  Is there a better sight in any sport than the start of a XC race?  By the way, Ann Woodlock (Donore) finished the tough route.  She’s 87. Thanks to Tadhg Sullivan and team for the sadistic course design.

Also on Sunday, the 8 year olds finally got their Dublin champs done and League 3 was completed.  175 wore the famous silver vest in Tymon.  Let’s hope they are still doing it at 87.

Our weaker athletes went indoors out of the weather:  I noticed Aaron Donnelly had a handy 8.27 opener.

In the first senior national championship of the year, our mixed relay team pushed the Ratoath machine to the limit  in the 4x4.  Silver this time.
And our first international medal of the year was won by Ciara Wilson Bowen; 2nd in the England athletics champs 3k walk.
The multi eventers kept us on the podium at the combined events.  Peadar McGing continues to inspire.

The East and West Leinster schools XC took place during the week and suggested a promising new generation arriving for DSD.

The ‘new lap’ on campus seems to work.  It is 1,845m.  Not 2,000 Romaine King.  Do another lap.
This weekend, Eimear Maher starts her indoor campaign in Barcelona…
Like I said, keep up…
