This week in Ireland’s greatest athletics club…

Bitter sweet for Ciarán Carthy – selected as non-travelling reserve for the World Champs in Tokyo…

Hiko will be our only representative there.  He is also planning Dublin marathon alongside Paul O’Donnell.  Paul is gathering fitness evidenced by his run at Antrim Coast.

Lorcan Murphy will add an Irish athletics vest to his multiple basketball caps following selection for the home countries decathlon.  And Louise King is selected on the distaff side.

Our last two events of the summer take place this weekend with firstly, the DSD Masters Games on Saturday.  The scoring system is simple to understand if you have a phd in maths.

And the final event of the track season might be the best, the friendly fun day for neurodiverse juvenile members is on Sunday, 2 pm to 4 pm.  It’s not too late to jump in – dsdchildwelfare@gmail.com to get your name down.

Great to see Damien and Sharon issue notices for proper athletics (cross country) starting soon.

Work will start on the Walled Garden next week so access to the gym will be…possible.  It is likely some sprinters may double their weekly mileage by having to walk around the long way. What harm?
