Things to ponder in August…
We're reminded again this year of the thin line between life and death. Very recently coach Carol Healy's mam Peggy, Captain Rob's dad Austin, Coach Ed Carthy's dad Teddy and John and Barry O'Grady's brother Aidan finished their races on this earth. Ar dheis De go raibh a ainaim dilis.
🌞 August has the best weather. Why are so many of us on a training break when we train in February?
At least the Masters have the DSD Games 30th August.
And the MTR marathon training hots up.
💰We love your money. But please don’t pay your renewal subs in September. They are not due until January. It kills us to do refunds.
Contractors will start the phase 3 works 1st September so the five acres will be out of action for about 7 months. Temporary pain. Please bear with us.
🌳 This weekend there’s a DSD takeover of Marlay Parkrun. Ok, its mainly a women’s takeover but turn up in club gear and you’ll be let in.
The MTR bbq is Saturday night and does not require club gear for entry. Kudos to Clare Flanagan for organising.
Notices are going out for the AGM 15th September. If you fancy a chance to make and shape club strategy, consider applying for a place on the board.
