A well attended Athletics Committee meeting during the week discussed important policy in coaching and endorsed an action plan to implement improvements in juvenile and talent development. Expect more news on this in the coming months...
The new sports hall foundations have risen from the mud. Take a.look from the top of the steps at the track. Progress is on track for opening September 26. Citius, Altius,
Fortius but for a building.
Our sprinters were in good form last weekend. Captain Ciaran Carthy's pb earned him his call up to the Ireland mixed relay team. Elizabeth Ndudi (long jump) is our other representative on the team for the Euro team champs.
The juvenile mayhem continued with DSD emerging top club overall in the Dublin champs. Now to repeat the trick at Nationals. Great to see us picking up medals in all events, track and field. My highlights, Conor Pimlott's 1500 silver and Conn McCluskeys 1.87 hj and Sharon Wilson's 37 relay teams.
This weekend we host a round of the juvenile league and a Dublin graded league. Thanks to our friends in Stillorgan rugby for sharing their car park.
